Within EVA-mode the power LED keeps flashing (on,1sec/off,1sec).
Also seen on https://openwrt.org/docs/techref/bootloader/eva although we have less commands in this version of EVA.

Be careful here, commands can destroy your device!!

After making all copies (backups) of all 7 mtd's finally tried to flash to OpenWrt.

Without success so far.. or?

And first of all, the ip-address used in the OpenWrt documentation is NOT available in EVA before you make a (really-first) LAN connection to the F4040 and browse to the default 192.168.178.1 ip-address and answer: language and country settings !!!

The OpenWrt Wiki needs (little) adjustments too (see above), as the described method does no work with regular downloads.
Other ip address settings etc (192.168.1.1 in second part ? sssst, is due to faulty 1st flash... )

We did used the first part to run new u-boot (after EVA-boot tho).
The EVA-boot stays as-is on the system. Also usefull for MAC addresses & wifi configuration.

If we boot now the last step is tftpboot, as it cant read from memory (yet, due to faulty 1st flash).

To flash OpenWrt (or OEM firmware) i used the small automatic flash script, from the link:

Adjust it with the latest downloaded firmware for the F4040:

After flashing i waited 2 to 5 minutes before pressing enter on EVA prompt and type go, OpenWrt will be loaded.

Following the process (on same page) to get the kernel.image file from the original OEM firmware and use the same -adjusted- script to flash back to OEM firmware.

It's clearly there after clean install of OpenWrt. Indeed it's not part of the switch configuration, and therefor not possible to be used in (or as) VLAN.

The mentioned WARNING's in the beginning of this message are gone after I updated my build environment to Debian 10 (Buster).
And I made complete new OpenWrt environment.
Within 2 or 3 days, OpenWrt released 19.0.5, which will be my new default level.

There should be code for WPS, and indeed it's available, next to the rfkill (WLAN) code:

Second option is using hotplug buttons.
If we follow the process we see indeed the WPS button pressed (also rfkill) in logread:

Within TorRouter we don't need the WPS function and we can make another function behind this button, even on different hold of this button.
For example: short press renew Tor-connection, long press restart Tor completely.

At this moment I'm not sure if WPS is doing what it should be, as I can't see any logs about it, although all code is there and the WPS button does work, as we see in the hotplug button test.

This will be investigated further.

During downgrading from snapshot to 19.07.4

After i tested my first (snapshot) build of OpenWrt, loaded the original 19.07.4 version.
Then the WEB-gui returns an error when trying to connect.
Also described here: https://github.com/openwrt/luci/issues/2231

But the solution seems already there in /etc/config/rpcd ?

But a close look shows a ubus directory? That is not there! Is this a bug within the 19.07.4 version?
The file ubus.sock is in directory /etc/run.

Adjusted this, remove the ubus directory within the option socket rule and reboot the router.
Make sure you clear cache of browser (or restart browser) before trying the WEB-gui again.

This solved this issue.

After updating to Debian 10 (Buster) I first lost all network items??
Fixed that but now I can't compile OpenWrt anymore? Missing library libpcre and cannot be found to be installed.
