Wordpress 3.8.1 + NextGen 2.0.40 is requesting the wrong URL

Nextgen is requesting the wrong URL address.
In site source and/or the options in Galleries / Other options / Lightbox Effects can not be saved.
As written in this topic.
Even tried the next link with instructions video, but still the SAVE button does not save the settings.
